Bilateral relations: Mauritius and Netherlands to further consolidate economic relations

GIS - 07 June, 2018: The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands, Mr Jeroen Verheul, paid a courtesy call yesterday on the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.
In a statement, Ambassador Verheul underscored that Mauritius and the Kingdom of Netherlands will expand their collaboration so as to further consolidate bilateral ties in view of reinforcing the economic relations between the two countries.
He spoke of the existing diplomatic relations between the two countries while adding that they will continue working together with the objective of bringing these relations to new heights. He also expressed the interests of the Netherlands to cooperate with Mauritius in various possible sectors and explore new avenues of cooperation.
The Ambassaddor underlined that Prime Minister Jugnauth previously met the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Netherlands, Mr Mark Rutte, with regards to the Chagos issue as the International Court of Justice has its seat in The Hague, Netherlands.
Mr Jeroen Verheul currently assumes the position of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Dar es Salaam, accredited to the Governments of Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritius and the Comoros.
